Legendary Telugu Actor Krishnam Raju passes away at 83

During the early hours of Sunday, September 11, the legendary Telugu actor Krishnam Raju passed away after an illustrious career spanning several decades.

On January 20, 1940, Krishnam Raju was born in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. He made his film debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966.

Krishnam Raju Garu died in Hyderabad on Sunday morning at 83. He was a well-known actor and former minister.

Garu is also known as the 'rebel star of Telugu cinema, as he is the uncle of famed Telugu actor Prabhas.

As a Telugu actor, he began his career with the 1966 film Chilaka Gorinka. He received numerous accolades and awards for various roles he played in films.

In addition to Jeevana Tarangalu, Krishnaveni, and Bhakta Kannappa, he has also written other works that are especially renowned.

Five Filmfare south awards and three Nandi awards have been bestowed upon Raju for his acting in more than 180 films.

In his political career, Krishnam Raja Garu began with Congress and soon moved to the BJP and became a minister.

It was expected that the politician-turned-actor would be released from the hospital within a few days. Although the leader's health did not improve, the leader of the former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continued to fight the disease.
